🌿 Spiced Oat Milk Brew Recipe & How to Create a Reference Library

Tip of the week 💡
answers to common questions, easy recipes and tips & tricks.

This Spiced Oat Milk Brew was created for an October blog post, but I wanted you to have it early. It’s a creamy, comforting drink with just the right amount of spice. I’ve been testing it for weeks, and it’s quickly become my little seasonal ritual. I hope it brings you the same comfort it’s brought me :)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups oat milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 dried whole cloves, lightly crushed
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave (add to taste)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (to serve)

Method:

In a small saucepan, combine oat milk, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt. Bring to a gentle simmer over low heat and let steep for 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and sweetener. Strain, then pour into a mug. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy!

Book Takeaways 📚

A new book every month-ish!

This month I read: Draw Stronger: Self Care for Cartoonists & Visual Artists by Kriota Willberg

This is what I have learnt from it:

  • Most artist pain comes from repetitive strain, poor posture, or tense grip, so learning healthy drawing mechanics is essential.
  • Pain is a signal! track it, and get professional help if it’s sharp, worsening, or interfering with daily life.
  • Like athletes, artists need strength, flexibility, breaks, and good posture to prevent injury and sustain their practice.
  • Quick fixes like painkillers or liniments can mask discomfort, but true healing comes from rest, treatment, and balanced routines.

Some of my favorites ❤️
A small collection of things I've been into lately

Read "The paradox of wanting a simple life in a noisy world” Substack article by Ayushi Thakkar. This resonated with me deeply ;o;

Listen → This might be a little different but if you need background music, check this youtube channel out. I search for background music and most top results are AI art thumbnails with AI generated music giving you the façade of cozy. Its nice to see a person playing instruments and getting to enjoy their musicianship.

Play → Recently got “Inside” for $1.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop, and omg best $1.99 I have ever spent. I was just looking to pass the time while I wait for Little Nightmares 3 and Reanimal to release but I'm thoroughly enjoying Inside so far!! The sale ends on 9/7 !

Try → I'm going to an amusement park later this week, and I'm prepping for the 6 hour car ride. I got this travel pillow and it has changed my life omg. Yes I will use it for long car rides and travel, but its now a staple for casual napping when I'm tired, and while I'm working in the evening since the weather here has been very cold and rainy lately. Basically, if I need immediate comfort, travel pillow and a small blanket is all I need.

I'll see you next week!
