🌿 Overwhelm Check-In & Functional Goal Setting (+Freebie)

Tip of the week 💡 Overwhelm check-in
answers to common questions, easy recipes and tips & tricks.

Sometimes, life moves too fast, and it’s easy to get swept up in stress, deadlines and/or expectations. Taking even a few quiet minutes to check in with yourself can help you notice what’s really going on, calm your mind, and figure out what you need next.
Pause for a moment and ask yourself:

  • What am I feeling right now?
  • Where in my body do I feel it?
  • What do I need in this moment to feel a bit lighter?

Answer honestly, even in one word. Small awareness can make a big difference!

If you have any questions in mind, feel free to ask below! I'll be answering them in the 'Tip of the Week' section of my newsletter. You can ask more than one if you have a lot on your mind. Let's help each other out! :)

The Powerful Science Behind Napping for Creative Thinking

Functional Goal Setting 101: Create Habits That Support Your Big Picture

Book Takeaways 📚

A new book every month-ish!

This month I read:

Digital Zettelkasten: Principles, Methods & Examples

This is what I have learnt from it:

  • People are naturally distracted, but using a Digital Zettelkasten allows small, productive note-taking actions to build curiosity and momentum and avoid doom-scrolling.
  • A Zettelkasten is a system for storing and interlinking notes to explore connections and generate unexpected insights.
  • Its purpose is to help you retain, retrieve, and develop ideas efficiently, turning scattered notes into new knowledge and writing.
  • By capturing notes digitally or on paper, you can eventually link them into drafts, projects, or complete works easily.

Some of my favorites ❤️
A small collection of things I've been into lately

Read → "a neuroscience-backed guide to slow living" substack by Yana Yuhai. This ticked my brain, I do try to practice slow and seasonal living when possible but reading how its backed my psychology and neuroscience makes my heart happy.

Listen → "Wendy Suzuki: The brain-changing benefits of exercise" A TED talk, I linked to this video in one of my posts but in case you havent seen it yet, listen to it! She is such a great health educator, you can tell she loves what she does and gives great tips.

Watch → Have you seen the "Personal Curriculum" trend going on right now? I love it! I've been doing this for the past few years for my own education, which is how my blog came along. Here are 2 videos I watched that I think could help you if you want to try this out! "Build Your Life Curriculum" and "How To Create Your Personal Curriculum!"

PlayTown To City! Im obsessed with this game. Its a simple and cute city builder with an emphasis on decoration and aesthetics. Build your own town in campaign mode following a sweet story or build a mega city to your heart's content in sandbox mode. (Its an early access game so tons more content to come) This is the reason I forgot to send my newsletter last week LOL but look at my town!
